Several years before the Cataclysm, a rift to the Feywyld appeared on Thepa. Flying serpents, known as dragons, spewed forth from this mighty hole to ravage the world and its peoples. War ensued. These dragons were taking a heavy toll upon the population of Thepa until its original inhabitants were able to close the breach. The time between the occurrence of the rift and its closure is known as the Serpentine War. The Cataclysm quickly followed.

In most people’s hearts and minds, these stories are just fables. Dragons, the Eluen-cuthpar, and even the Cataclysm are simply stories designed to scare children into obeying their parents. No one truly knows. The war and all the names surrounding it supposedly existed four thousand years in the past, a very long time to hold an accurate account of the past.
